According to former UFC title challenger Kenny Florian, multiple eyewitnesses say UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor dominated former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi during their sparring sessions.
On a recent episode of his podcast with UFC commentator Jon Anik, both UFC analysts talked about the sparring sessions between McGregor and Malignaggi.
Both men believe McGregor looked good in the footage that was released, and Florian said he’s heard from multiple sources that McGregor dominated both of his sparring sessions with Malignaggi.
Florian also discussed the debate on whether or not Malignaggi was pushed or knocked to the ground by McGregor. The former UFC title challenger admitted that Malignaggi was off balance, but thinks it’s ridiculous to think McGregor was able to push him down by just barely touching the back of his neck.
“What is Paulie Malignaggi like 75 pounds? Is Conor some behemoth Hulk that just drove him down to the ground with that shot in the back of the neck,” Florian said.
McGregor is currently training to fight in his first professional boxing match. On Aug. 26, McGregor will fight boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather in Las Vegas.
