UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s cornermen for the biggest fight of his career has officially been announced.
On Saturday, McGregor will compete in his first professional boxing match. He is scheduled to square off against Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who is one of the greatest boxers to have ever competed in the sport.
McGregor’s cornermen for the fight will consist of John Kavanagh, Owen Roddy, Artem Lobov, and cutman Tommy McCormack.
Kavanagh has been McGregor’s head coach throughout his MMA career, and it’s no surprise he will be in McGregor’s corner for the biggest fight of his career.
However, Roddy, McGregor’s striking coach, will be the lead cornerman for the fight. Roddy will be the only coach allowed inside the ring in between rounds.
Lobov is one of McGregor’s main training partners. He is also a featherweight fighter in the UFC.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
