Today marks the nine-year anniversary of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones’ UFC debut.
At UFC 87, Jones fought André Gusmão in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jones won the fight by unanimous decision.
From his first fight, UFC fans could tell Jones was something special. His unique and unorthodox striking was something that had rarely even been seen inside the Octagon.
Jones also made his UFC debut after just training in the sport for nine months. During that nine-month period, Jones had earned an undefeated 6-0 MMA record.

Jones holds the UFC record for the most title defenses in light heavyweight history with eight and has won 11 title fights in the UFC in total.
