Paulie Says He’s Not Friends With Conor, Breaks Down Out-Of-Hand “Dirty” Sparring Battles

Retired professional boxer Paulie Malignaggi has revealed that things got rough while sparring with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

Malignaggi was brought in to help McGregor prepare for his upcoming fight against Floyd “Money” Mayweather, which will be McGregor’s professional boxing debut.

In a recent interview, Malignaggi said him and McGregor got rough while in the ring. He also says the UFC champion fought dirty as well.

“It got a little rough. It got a little tense. I’d say dirty, really dirty even in spots of the sparring,” Malignaggi said. “I think he brought a game face into sparring. He’s not very likable. I’ll admit I’m not very likable a lot of times in there.”

Malignaggi went on to say that he and the UFC champion aren’t friends, and he’s not trying to make friends either.

McGregor will fight Mayweather on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
