UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture recently shared his thoughts on a potential fight between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Couture said Jones has what it takes to compete with Lesnar inside the Octagon.
“He can compete with Lesnar,” Couture said. “He’s long, rangy, a great wrestler, very dynamic striking. He’s got all the tools he needs to compete with Lesnar. He’s got to get some very big partners and get used to it. Worst-case scenario, he gets knocked down and Lesnar gets on top of him. He’s got to be able to survive that. So we’ll see.”
Lesnar won the UFC heavyweight title by defeating Couture at UFC 91 back in 2008.
Both Jones and Lesnar have shown interest in fighting each other in the UFC. However, Lesnar is currently suspended from the sport and it will be awhile before he’ll be able to compete if he decides to return to the Octagon.
