UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones’ manager, Malki Kawa, has a history of his clients being flagged by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Earlier this week, Jones was the latest of Kawa’s fighters to test positive for a banned substance. Jones failed a USADA drug test given to him the day before his fight with Daniel Cormier last month.
Jones isn’t the only UFC fighter that Kawa represents who has had issues with USADA.
Fighters such as Frank Mir, Ben Rothwell, BJ Penn, Yoel Romero, and Diego Ferreira have all been flagged by USADA while being represented by Kawa.
Jones latest failed drug test was due to him testing positive for the steroid Turinabol, which is the same substance Mir tested positive for.
All of the Kawa’s fighters who were flagged by USADA also happen to train in either Florida or New Mexico.
Lastly, with the exception of Penn and Rothwell, all of Kawa’s fighters who were flagged by USADA claim it was due to a tainted supplement.
With Jones failing two USADA drug tests, Kawa’s fighters have been flagged by USADA a total of seven times. Prior to Jones’ latest failed test, the six previous failed tests all resulted in fighters getting suspended.
