Ever since Conor McGregor revealed that he plans to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside a boxing ring, many fighters and fans have been speculating when the UFC lightweight champion will be making a return to the octagon. However, a recent rumor suggests the fighter may have another boxing match in mind after his bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
As reported by Middle Easy, “Huge if true, but plans are moving forward with Conor McGregor taking a second boxing match before he returns to the UFC. Depending on how things go rumors are Paul Malignaggi will confront McGregor in the ring immediately after the conclusion of his Floyd Mayweather fight.”
Paul Malignaggi is a former sparring partner of the UFC lightweight champion. However, the two suffered a falling out after sparring photos were leaked on the internet. Now, it would appear that rumors are circulating that the two may meet inside a boxing ring.
Whatever McGregor has planned, the UFC champion will face off against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Aug. 26 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
