It appears the UFC will get 20 percent of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s purse for his upcoming fight against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
A source who has commentated for regional MMA promotions, and has trained alongside former UFC title challenger Jake Shields, claims a longtime UFC employee revealed to him that the UFC will take one fifth of McGregor’s purse.
The UFC will also get 50 percent of McGregor’s share in the pay-per-view revenue for the fight.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Saturday, August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he steps into the ring with Mayweather. In order for the fight to happen, McGregor had to receive permission from the UFC since he is under contract with the MMA promotion.
