Several six-figure bets have recently been placed on Floyd “Money” Mayweather defeating UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in their upcoming boxing match.
According to a report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, many six-figure bets have placed on the fight, and the majority of the money is being placed on Mayweather.
Even though people are betting more money on Mayweather winning, more people are placing bets on McGregor pulling off the upset.
According to the report, one sportsbook (CG Technology) reports 93 percent of their bets are being placed on McGregor winning, but 75 percent of all the money being wagered in on Mayweather remaining undefeated.
With McGregor being the underdog, people will make more money on small bets, while in order to make a significant amount of money on Mayweather, betters must wager a large sum of money.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
