For the past 16 years, UFC President Dana White has led the world’s premier MMA organization to prominence.
Since 2001, White led the UFC from being barely legal to one of the most recognized sports in the world.
In the video below, you can see White’s first interview as UFC president.
“We want to make this the Super Bowl of mixed martial arts,” White said during his first on-air interview as UFC president. We want to make it fan friendly, we want to get the crowd involved in it, and we want to bring back the best fighters in the world.”
White has accomplished his early goals with the UFC. Since White, and the Fertitta brothers, took over the promotion, the UFC became a household name. They were able to get television deals and are seen on some of the biggest television networks in the world.
In 2016, the UFC was sold to WME-IMG for over $1 billion, but White remains as the company’s president.
