On Saturday, two of the top women strawweight fighters in the world squared off in the Octaon.
At a UFC Fight Night, Alexa Grasso fought Randa Markos in the co-main event in Mexico City.
Grasso and Markos fought in a back-and-forth battle where both women showed a lot of skill, toughness, and heart. In the end, the judges awarded Grasso with a split-decision win.
Going into the fight, Grasso was coming off the first loss of her MMA career. In February, she lost a decision to strawweight contender Felice Herrig. Prior to her loss, Grasso was undefeated with nine wins.
Markos was coming off the biggest win of her career going into this fight. In her last fight, she won a decision against former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza.
Below, you can see how fighters reacted to Grasso earning a split decision win over Markos.

Head and arm throws aren't a bad way to take fight to the mat but it's what happens after that which is the problem. #UFCMexicoCity
