UFC light heavyweight Patrick Cummins appears to be happy about Jon Jones’ latest failed drug test.
It was revealed that Jones had failed another drug test on Tuesday. Jones’ failed test came from an in-competition sample taken the day before his fight against Daniel Cormier last month.
After hearing the news, Cummins joked about the situation and thanked Jones for moving him up in the rankings.
“Just cracked the top ten sitting on the couch. Thanks Jonny,” Cummins said on Twitter.
Whenever a fighter potentially fails a drug test given to them by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency, the UFC responds by taking them off of their official rankings.
As of today, Jones is still the UFC champion and is ranked at the top of the division.
If Jones gets taken out of the rankings, every fighter at 205-pounds will move up one spot. Unfortunately, Cummins still wouldn’t be in the top 10. Cummins is currently ranked No. 12 in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings.
Just cracked the top ten sitting on the couch. Thanks Jonny
