Why Isn’t Jens Pulver In The UFC Hall-Of-Fame? Felice Herrig Speaks Up

UFC strawweight contender Felice Herrig believes former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver should be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

On Monday, Herrig posted a highlight video of Pulver’s UFC career on her Instagram page.

“I don’t understand how (Jens Pulver) the very first (UFC) Lightweight champion hasn’t been inducted into the UFC hall of fame,” Herrig wrote on Instagram.

“We should always pay respect to the pioneers who paved the way and help build the sport to what it is today.”

In 2001, Pulver won the UFC Lightweight Championship by winning a decision against Caol Uno. Pulver went on to defend his title on two separate occasions by winning decisions against Dennis Hallman and BJ Penn.

Pulver never lost his UFC title. He was stripped of the championship after leaving the UFC in 2002.

Pulver last fought in 2013. He’s fought in multiple weight classes including featherweight, bantamweight, and flyweight. His legendary career includes fights against Cub Swanson, Tim Elliott, Joe Lauzon, Takanori Gomi and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
