Former UFC title challenger Cat Zingano says UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino turned down a fight against her.
On Monday, Zingano sent out a tweet saying she would remind “Cyborg” about her turning down the fight, but the UFC champion has blocked her on Twitter.
“If Cris Cyborg hadn’t blocked my on social media, I’d remind her that she declined fighting me for the first 145 belt,” Zingano said.
According to Zingano, “Cyborg” was offered a fight with Zingano for the first UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship. Justino declined the fight and ultimately didn’t end up fighting for the inaugural championship.
Early this year, Germaine de Randamie defeated former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm to become the first UFC women’s featherweight champion.
De Randamie was later stripped of the title after she refused to defend the championship against Justino.
On Saturday, “Cyborg” won the vacant UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship after defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214.
