Prior to defending her title at UFC 215, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes had to prepare her home in Florida for Hurricane Irma.
On Thursday, Nunes did an interview and was asked about her preparations for the hurricane that is expected to hit the area in Florida where she lives.
“When you have a house you have to prepare,” Nunes said. “We have to be ready for everything. I have company in my house right now to make sure everything is taken care of.”
Nunes went on to say that fellow UFC fighter Alex Chambers is staying in her house during the hurricane. The UFC champion says she isn’t worried about the hurricane. She will also have to stay in Canada or go elsewhere after the fight because she won’t be able to fly home.
Nunes will defend her title against top contender Valentina Shevchenko in the main event of UFC 215, which will take place Sept. 9 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
