Former Olympic boxer Mikaela Mayer is ready to welcome UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino to the world of boxing.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that “Cyborg” applied and was granted a boxing license in the state of California.
After UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor earned the biggest payday of his career in a boxing match, many high-caliber MMA fighters have stated they want to compete in the squared circle. It now appears Justino may be the next UFC fighter to do so.
After Ariel Helwani, of MMA Fighting, broke the news of “Cyborg” getting a boxing license, Mayer responded to the tweet showing her excitement.
“For realz??!!” Mayer said on Twitter regarding Justino competing in boxing.
“Cyborg” herself later responded to Mayer saying she was serious about competing in the squared circle.
“I’m the least fake fighter you will meet. I’m too for real,” Justino said.
Mayer is a former U.S Olympian in the sport of boxing. Last month, she made her professional boxing debut and knocked out her opponent early in the first round.
