UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber have finally revealed details on what happened during the training session where Garbrandt says he knocked out TJ Dillashaw.
Both Garbrandt and Faber talked about the incident on a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast.
During their interview, Rogan asked about the footage of Garbrandt knocking out Dillashaw during practice.
“I remember him doing his little footwork, and then he jumped down and does his uppercut, and I just threw an overhand right,” Garbrandt said.
“He didn’t go out cold like flat out. He just got dropped and then he came back up,” Faber added.
After being knocked down, Garbrandt says Dillashaw was angry and wanted to continue fighting.
“He was on stanky legs and was like, ‘Come on mother(expletive) hit me,” Garbrandt said.
Garbrandt is scheduled to defend his championship against Dillashaw in the co-main event of UFC 217 on Nov. 4 in New York City.
