The total gate numbers for last month’s historic boxing event featuring the professional boxing debut of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor have been released, and they did not break the record.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, last month’s boxing match between McGregor and Floyd “Money” Mayweather had a live gate of $55,414,865.79. While this did break the live gate for any fight to take place at the T-Mobile Arena, it did not break the record for the highest gate in combat sports history.
Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 had a live gate of $72.2 million, which is the current record holder. Mayweather’s fight with McGregor is now in second place.
When it comes to attendance, over 13,000 people were in attendance to watch the fight. Currently, the UFC holds the record for the largest attendance for a fight at the T-Mobile Arena. UFC 207 back in December holds the record with over 17,600 people in attendance.
