Jon Jones Takes Massive Hit In Official UFC Rankings Update

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has taken a hit when it comes to the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Recently, it was revealed that Jones failed a drug test given to him by the U.S Ani-Doping Agency (USADA). The failed sample given by Jones was taken the day before he defeated Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.

As a result of Jones’ latest failed drug test, Jones has dropped in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. After regaining his title, Jones was ranked at No. 1, but now Jones has dropped to No. 3. UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson is now once again in the No. 1 spot, while UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is now ranked at No. 2.

Usually, when a UFC fighter is flagged by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation, that fighter is no longer eligible to be ranked. But since Jones has not been stripped of his title, the UFC has kept him in the rankings.
