Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has shared his thoughts about UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
While doing an interview with TMZ Sports, Rockhold said it was a sad day in the sport after hearing that Jones’ B-sample also tested positive for steroid use.
Jones tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs from an in-competition sample taken the day before he fought Daniel Cormier, who is also Rockhold’s training partner.
Rockhold went on to say that he feels bad for Cormier, and believes he should be the UFC light heavyweight champion.
In the video below, you can hear all of Rockhold’s thoughts on Jones’ failed drug test.
On Wednesday, the California State Athletic Commission announced they were overturning Jones’ win against Cormier to a no-contest. The UFC has yet to strip Jones of his title, but if they did, it is unclear whether the title would be vacant or go back to Cormier.
Rockhold is scheduled to make his return to the UFC this weekend. On Sept. 16, Rockhold will fight middleweight contender David Branch in the main event of a UFC Fight Night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
