A UFC newcomer has agreed to fight UFC welterweight prospect “Platinum” Mike Perry on just three days.
On Wednesday, it was announced that former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves was forced to withdraw from his co-main event fight against Perry on Saturday night.
With Alves being out of the fight, it didn’t take long for the UFC to find a replacement. According to Perry, he will now be fighting UFC newcomer Alex Reyes.
Reyes is primarily a lightweight fighter but will be moving up to 170 pounds in order to make his UFC debut on short notice. He currently has an MMA record of 13-2. He is on a 13-fight winning streak with all of his fights ending with a knockout, TKO, or submission.
Perry is also known for being a finisher. All 10 of his MMA wins have come by knockout or TKO.
Perry will fight Reyes on Sept. 16 at a UFC Fight Night event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event will be headlined by former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold squaring off against David Branch.
