A teenage blue belt in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu recently defeated an adult black belt in a competition that allowed any age and any belt to compete against each other.
Thalys Pontes is a 17-year-old blue belt and has trained in Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu for five years, while Stefann Henrique is a 40-year-old black belt who has been training for 15 years.
The two Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners battled for seven minutes with both grapplers having success throughout their match. Pontes found the most success by pulling guard and fighting from the bottom. Neither grappler was able to submit their opponent, but Pontes won the battle based on points.
In the video below, you can watch this entire grappling match take place, and watch the 17-year-old teenager pull off the upset against the much older black belt.
