UFC strawweight Paige VanZant was ready to make her debut in the UFC flyweight division at UFC 216. VanZant was hoping to get a new start at 125lbs after having a tough time making weight at 115lbs.
“It’s a big cut for me. I’m a lot heavier than people realize,” she said “I was honestly killing myself for this sport. In my last I want to say two fights or three fights, I’ve passed out in my bathroom. This last one, I passed out and had the doctors almost not cleared me for the fight. “I’m a big advocate for body positivity, and I was putting myself through an eating disorder to make weight,” she continued. “And it became not fun for me anymore. I hate cutting. I hated the process. Obviously, passing out on your bathroom floor is not fun, because you’re dying in a bathtub.”
“12 Gauge” was set to take on Jessica Eye for the highly anticipated event. However, Paige VanZant suffered an injury ,and many ailments, during training and has since been pulled from the card. Now another UFC competitor is ready to take VanZant’s spot.
Fellow UFC strawweight Heather Clark recently took to Twitter to to reveal that she is willing and ready to take on Jessica Eye at UFC 216. Of course, UFC 216 is only a week away. Set for Oct. 7, UFC 216 will go down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Clark went to Twitter to announce that she is willing to take VanZant’s spot on Sept. 25 with only 11 days until UFC 216 was set to kick off.
Here is what Heather Clark had to say below:
