On Saturday, the UFC returned after a month hiatus with a UFC Fight Night event full of intriguing matchups and up-and-coming fighters.
On the prelims, Michel Prazeres attempted to win his fifth fight in a row inside the Octagon when he fought UFC newcomer Mads Bernell.
Prazeres engaged a clinch early in the fight. Bernell got the fight against the cage before getting taken down. Prazeres secured the top position. Towards the end of the round, Bernell fought his way back to his feet but got taken back to the ground. Prazeres began to land strikes on top while trying to change positions to finish the round.
Both fighters landed strikes early in the second round. After eating some clean punches, Prazeres took the fight to the ground. For the majority of the round, Prazeres smothered his opponent on the ground. In the final seconds, Prazeres went for a choke but ran out of time.
At the start of the final round, both fighters traded punches in the center of the cage. Prazeres then took Bernell down once again. Prazeres then secured a north-south choke and finished the fight.
