Things got a little physical at today’s UFC 217 pre-fight press conference. Event headliners Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre entered a heated exchange during the conference, but things really picked up during their staredown. Bisping approached the former welterweight champion and began touching him. After Bisping grabbed George St-Pierre’s arm, “Rush” pushed his opponent away with his fist firm in Bisping’s stomach. Now Michael Bisping has offered his response to the physical confrontation over social media.
UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping earned his title with a swift knockout of Luke Rockhold, later leading to a successful title defense against Dan Henderson. Georges St-Pierre, on the other hand, has been retired from MMA for nearly four years.
After beating Johny Hendricks by decision for another successful title defense, Georges St-Pierre decided to call an end to his welterweight career. Now “Rush” is making a return to the octagon for a middleweight title fight against “The Count” in the main event of UFC 217.
UFC 217 goes down Nov. 4 inside the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York. The main card will be available live on pay-per-view.
Taking to Instagram, Michael Bisping responded to being pushed by St-Pierre by calling the former champion a “lizard.”
“Little tummy punch from the lizard.”
Offering a video of the confrontation, Michael Bisping decided to point out that Georges St-Pierre called him angry earlier in the conference.
“And he says I’m an angry guy.”
