War Machine, formerly known as Jonathan Koppenhaver, has been sentenced to 36 years to life for the assault of former girlfriend Christy Mack. Now the former adult film star has come forward with a new statement concerning the incarceration of her former boyfriend.
War Machine had a short run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, appearing on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. The fighter would go on to fight under the Bellator MMA banner, before being charged for the beating of Christy Mack.
In a new interview with Yahoo News, Mack offered a new statement on the incarceration of War Machine. Here is what she had to say:
“I do feel quite a bit safer with him being away for that amount of time.”
Speaking on the sentence, Mack added that she feels justice has been served.
“I do feel that justice has been served and I hope that so many more people can [also].”
