D.C. Reacts To Volkan's First Round K.O. Prediction

Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones finally had their rematch at UFC 214. Jon Jones earned a knockout victory over his rival and scored the UFC light heavyweight title along with it, that seemed to be the end of it. Then, USADA revealed that Jon “Bones” Jones had failed his UFC 214 drug test. As a result, the fight was overturned and Daniel Cormier is once again the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion.

To choose his next opponent, Daniel Cormier took to social media to let his fans decide which contender would get a shot for the title. In the end, the fans voted and Daniel Cormier revealed that No. 2 ranked contender Volkan Oezdemir will be his next opponent inside the octagon.

Since the reveal, Volkan Oezdemir has come forward with a response to the news. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Oezdemir explained that he expects to get a knockout over Daniel Cormier within two minutes, if they ever meet inside the octagon.

“I think in the first two minutes, that’s my goal anyway. I’m going to make all of my training so I will be able to knock him out. I have no time for this. I don’t want to get injured, I’m just going to knock him out really fast.”
