There have been a lot of rumors circling around about what could be next for UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
In the latest set of rumors, it’s the WWE that McGregor is now pursuing.
The always busy UFC president Dana White was making the media rounds in New York today, and while on FOX 5 New York, he got asked about Conor’s move to the world of pro-wrestling.
The UFC president denied that any talks between Conor McGregor and the WWE are going on.
Next, the show’s host asked for proof of White’s words via his recent text message conversation with WWE head Vince McMahon.
White obliged showing the following text transcript to the host: (Via FOX)
When asked to see the text message by co-host Rosanna Scotto, White showed the string of communications.
In one of the messages McMahon stated: “News to me”.
He later added “It might be good someday but not now”.
Dana White and Vince McMahon have always had an interesting relationship and even though they’re from two different worlds, the UFC President has a lot of respect for the McMahon’s.
“I think Vince and definitely Stephanie [McMahon] and Triple H—Stephanie and Triple H are always great, always cool to work with—Vince has been very difficult in the past but the past several years he’s been much better. He’s a [expletive] maniac, he’s an animal, he’s a competitor, he wants to win. That’s his nature and I respect it.” White told FoxSports.
With the WWE off the table it narrows Conor’s options down to, Nate Diaz, Tony Ferguson, Paul Malignaggi an Canelo Alvarez.
Stay tuned.
