Last night’s UFC 216 event had hundreds of first responders from the tragedy of the Las Vegas shooting present for the night’s fights, as well as 15 survivors from the recent tragedy. In honor of those present, the mixed martial arts promotion attempted to have 91 Harvest Music Festival headliner Jason Aldean perform the National Anthem for the event. However, Aldean declined and now UFC President Dana White is irate.
In what has become the worst shooting in modern American history, 59 people have been confirmed dead and another 515 injured from the mass shooting that took place last weekend at the 91 Harvest Music Festival. As reported by TMZ Sports, Dana White reached out to Jason Aldean in an attempt to get the country singer to perform the UFC 216 national anthem. However, Dana White revealed that he was informed that Aldean may never perform live again after being shaken up by the tragedy.
Well, Dana White now has some heated words for the country artist. Here is what the UFC president told TMZ Sports:
“His image was more important then coming back to Vegas and playing for the people who are his fans and who got shot watching him play. F*ck you Jason Aldean. Stay out of Vegas.
“Those are people who buy your albums and none of you country music people could sing the anthem in front of survivors and 1st responders?”
Finishing his thoughts, White stated:
“This isn’t about money. This is about the bad ass people who fought through this sh*t that this coward did.”
