Darren Till Confesses He Entered Cerrone Fight As A Light-Heavyweight: ‘This should be illegal’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made a trip to Gdansk, Poland last weekend for UFC Fight Night 118. In the day’s main event, welterweight contender Donald Cerrone faced off against the undefeated Darren Till. Of course, things did not go Cerrone’s way.

Till put on a dominant performance over “Cowboy,” earning a TKO victory within the first round. Now the undefeated fighter has 16 victories attached to his professional mixed martial arts record.

Speaking to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Darren Till revealed that he was roughly 200 pounds on fight night. As the two competitors faced off in the 170 pound division, the extra mass is no small feat.

“I ain’t no welterweight.” Till said. “I’m a light heavyweight fighting at welterweight. It should be illegal, what I’m doing. The UFC should ban it, but they can’t because I do it naturally and I do it professionally. No one can do a fu**ing thing about it.”
