Is Enough, Enough? Fighter Dragged Onto Scales, Allowed To Weigh-In

Coming in fresh off of the UFC 216 weigh-ins debacle that saw a headliner miss weight and a UFC lightweight veteran in Nik Lentz not even make it to the scales, the discussion of weight cuts is at an all-time high.

Now, a horrific video has surfaced (above) from an event overseas that shows an athlete being allowed to weigh-in, literally being dragged to the scales in order to hit the mark.

In no reality is this o.k.

According to a report from MMAFighting, the athlete was forced to cut 16 pounds in two days. Which resulted in his impaired condition.

The fighter is Daniel Uma and the event was Pancrase 290. In it, Uma snapped his seven fight win streak. Not had to see why.

Is it time to see some sort of weigh-ins policy reform so incidents like these or the ones at last week’s UFC 216 don’t happen again?
