Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall recently departed from the UFC after he and the mixed martial arts promotion could not come to terms on a new contract.
Plagued with unfortunate injuries and bout cancellations, Ian McCall has not competed since his 2015 decision loss to John Lineker. Now, however, it would appear that the fighter has scored a spot under the Rizin Grand Prix banner.
Having entered the 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix, McCall is now set to face Manel Kape. “Uncle Creepy” will have a lot on his hands, as Kape is currently riding a five fight winning streak with an overall professional record of 7-1.
The grand prix goes will go down Dec. 29 inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will be available on Fite TV within North America.
Ian McCall now holds a professional record of 13-5 as he makes his Rizin debut this Dec.
