Gilbert “El Nino” Makes His Acting Debut, With One Bad Ass Gangster Street Fight Scene

It would appear that the UFC’s Gilbert Melendez has landed a role in a new action film.

Gilbert Melendez has put on a storied career as a mixed martial artist. From Clay Guida to Diego Sanchez, the fighter has taken on some of the toughest competitors in the sport. Now it would appear that “El Nino” can add acting to his repertoire.

Taking to Instagram, Melendez revealed that he scored a part in UFC and Strikeforce veteran Cung Le’s action film Dragon Eyes. The film debut in 2012 and features action film star Jean-Claude Van Damme. The film is newly available on Amazon Prime.

Gilbert Melendez is now on a four fight losing streak inside the octagon. The fighter most recently suffered a unanimous decision loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC 215. Melendez suffered a brutal leg injury early in the fight, but went the distance with his opponent all the same.
