Conor McGregor suffered a TKO loss in his boxing debut. With the UFC superstar fresh off the payday of his career, fight fans are waiting to see if and when the lightweight champion will return to the octagon. One of the possible super fights on everyone’s minds is a throw down with Georges St-Pierre. It would appear that “Rush” has not completely ruled out the possibility.
St-Pierre is returning to the octagon after being retired from the sport for nearly four years. Moving up in weight, “Rush” is set to take on UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping for his title in the pay-per-view main event of UFC 217.
At the recent Toronto pre-fight press conference for the event, St-Pierre explained that if he defeats Bisping he will then be contractually obligated to unify his title in a fight against interim champion Robert Whittaker. However, when Conor McGregor was mentioned, he also explained that UFC President Dana White has the final say in which opponent he takes on next.
“In my contract, it’s Robert Whittaker. But, Dana is the boss, so he decides what will be next.”
Georges St-Pierre will take on Michael Bisping at UFC 217 on Nov. 4. The fight will go down inside the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York and will be available via pay-per-view.
