Georges St-Pierre is set to make his return to the octagon after being away from the sport for nearly four years. After winning a close title defense decision against Johny Hendricks, “Rush” decided to retire from the sport of mixed martial arts. However, the former UFC welterweight champion has now chosen to make an octagon return at a higher weight class. Set to headline this Saturday’s UFC 217, Georges St-Pierre will be challenging UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for his title.
The “The Count” and St-Pierre’s throw down so close to its climax, fight fans are speculating as to how the event will go down. Some fight fans look to Michael Bisping’s apparent larger size as an advantage for the fighter, while others look to St-Pierre’s dominant run in the UFC welterweight division as the deciding factor for the fight. Now mixed martial arts veteran Chael Sonnen has come forward with some insider information concerning the two MMA warriors.
As seen in the video above, Chael Sonnen expresses his disbelief in larger opponents having a size advantage. Rather, Sonnen puts his faith in the strength of each fighter. Having competed against Bisping and having trained with Georges St-Pierre, Chael Sonnen claims that “Rush” is actually stronger than “The Count.”
