Georges St-Pierre made a dominant run through the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) during his storied career. After defending his title with a close decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, the Canadian phenom retired from the sport of mixed martial arts.
Now, almost four years later, St-Pierre is ready to return to the octagon. That being said, the former champion’s return will not be happening within the welterweight class. Rather, “Rush” is moving up to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping for his title.
The two fighters will face off in the pay-per-view main event of UFC 217 on Nov. 4 inside the Madison Square Garden Arena.
In preparation for his big octagon return at a new weight class, Georges St-Pierre has been putting on some serious mass. Looking larger than ever, some fight fans have begun to question the fighter’s physique. On his podcast Joe Rogan Experience, UFC commentating veteran Joe Rogan gave his thoughts on Georges St-Pierre’s progress in preparing for UFC 217.
“This stuff is weirding me out man. It’s weird sh*t that he’s doing where they are touching things moving things and touching things with his feet. He looks jacked. What if he pisses hot?” Rogan said, when discussing the former champion.
