Jon Anik Roasts D.C. And Team AKA On Live T.V. … Wins Today’s Internet

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier sat alongside color-commentator Jon Anik for last weekend’s UFC 216 event in Las Vegas, Nev. During the broadcast, the two commentators had a playful exchange that quickly turned into a clever remark from Anik.

Speaking on the potential for American Top Team’s place as one of the greatest MMA training camps around, UFC commentating Joe Rogan quickly got the attention of Daniel Cormier. Cormier jokingly prodded Rogan for the remark. Taking a shot at Cormier’s home camp American Kickboxing Academy, Anik said:

“At least they don’t over spar like those AKA guys.”

Of course, AKA is notorious for their injured fighters. From Daniel Cormier to former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold or lightweight top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, the fight camp has a history of fighters consistently getting injured ahead of their fights.

Jon Anik’s sly remark immediately got a reaction from the light heavyweight champion. See the video above for the full exchange.
