Former UFC middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi elected for free agency after not coming to terms with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on his new fight contract earlier this year. Now “The Dreamcatcher” fights under the Bellator banner.
Mousasi had a rough debut with the competing promotion at Bellator 185 on Friday. The fighter took on Alexander Shlemenko for his debut match up. The bout went the distance, leaving many fans unsure as to the winner. Still, in the end, Mousasi earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent. That being said, the former UFC contender has received quite a bit of criticism from fighters and fans for his rough Bellator debut victory.
Appearing on today’s edition of The MMA Hour, Gegard Mousasi revealed that he was punched in the eye early in the fight. The strike caused Mousasi quite a bit of trouble for the rest of the fight. Still, “The Dreamcatcher” is not happy with his performance under the Bellator banner. For those that wish to criticize the fighter on his debut, Mousasi has a message.
“To the haters, they can suck it. I have a pretty long one. They can all get in line and suck it.” He said.
