“The Venezuelan Vixen” is already making plans for her next octagon performance.
Julianna Pena, inaugural female winner of The Ultimate Fighter, recently revealed that she is pregnant. While the fighter is currently in her third trimester, she is already preparing for her next octagon battle. Most recently, “The Venezuelan Vixen” suffered a submission loss to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC on FOX 23. Now it would appear that Pena is dead set on correcting that defeat.
Speaking to MMA Mania, Pena explained that she is currently focused on the birth of her child. But, the fighter is looking for a rematch in her next octagon performance.
“My goal right now is to have my baby, love my baby, and get back into the Octagon. The division definitely needs me. My main goal is to rematch Valentina in my first fight back. I messed up in my last fight, I was overzealous.”
Speaking on her pregnancy, Pena explained that she feels revitalized and motivated by her child.
“Having a daughter on the way not only rejuvenated me personally, it gave me so much more to fight for. I’m excited to start this new phase in my life and UFC has been so supportive of me. (UFC President) Dana White was stoked, he loves kids, and told me fighting will always be here waiting for me.”
