Demetrious Johnson made mixed martial arts history, as he made his 11th consecutive title defense within the UFC at tonight’s UFC 216. Now fighters and fans have taken the internet by storm, all wishing to voice their thoughts on the momentous occasion.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted UFC 216 tonight inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. In the night’s main event, Tony Ferguson earned the interim lightweight title with a submission victory over Kevin Lee. In the night’s other exciting title fight, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and division contender Ray Borg squared off for the co-main event.
Ray Borg tried to pressure his opponent early on, but “Mighty Mouse” was simply too much for him. Johnson put on a dominant performance over Borg, punctuating the fight with a dazzling armbar submission.
Flinging Ray Borg into the air with a suplex, Demetrious Johnson managed to transition into an armbar submission in mid-air. The impressive display of dexterity and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu earned Demetrious Johnson his record breaking 11th consecutive title defense within the UFC.
