Late last night a lone gunman opened fire on a Las Vegas concert, murdering at least 50 innocent civilians and injuring more than 200 more.
It’s being called the worst shooting in our nation’s history, and according to reports the lone shooter was shot and killed by Las Vegas Police shortly after the incident.
“More than 50 people were killed in the worst mass shooting in modern American history when a lone gunman opened fire into an outdoor country music festival from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel on Sunday night, police said. More than 200 people were injured as performer Jason Aldean was onstage, Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said at a news conference.
The gunman was identified by law enforcement officials as Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada. Police responded to reports of the shooting just after 10 p.m. (1 a.m. ET), and the suspect was fatally shot in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, officials said.”
Videos and testimony are taking over the internet this morning, and the UFC’s best have all started to speak up in support of the victims from last night’s tragedy. Las Vegas is the headquarters to the UFC, along with many of the top fighters in the sport so this tragedy is definitely hitting close to home for many of them.
