Pay-Per-View Buy Report: UFC 215 and 216 Absolutely Flop, Lowest In Years

The pay-per-view purchases for two of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) recent events have come to light and things are not looking good.

Last year, the mixed martial arts promotion averaged 644,000 buys per show for their 2016 run of events. However, it would appear that the recent UFC 215 and UFC 216 events together pulled less than half of that average.

As reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, UFC 215 made 100,000 pay-per-view purchases, while UFC 216 took home 120,000 buys.

UFC 215 took place Sept. 9 with a UFC bantamweight title fight rematch between reigning champion Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.

UFC 216 went down just last weekend with an exciting war for the interim lightweight title between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee. In the night’s co-main event, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson broke the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses with a stunning victory over Ray Borg.
