In the night’s UFC Fight Night 119 main card opener John Lineker vs. Marlon Vera took center stage.
In the first round the UFC bantamweights were content to keep it on the feet. Lineker used his power advantage to keep Vera honest. Vera was able to keep the round competitive, but ultimately it looked like a round for Lineker.
In round two it was much of the same, the only variance is that towards the end of the round, Lineker got his man down to the canvas and from guard worked some pretty effective ground and pound until the final bell.
In round three, Vera was able to find more of a home for his strikes against an obviously fatigued Lineker. But because of the prior to rounds, it’s not enough for him to pick up the win.
Results: John Lineker def. Marlon Vera via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
