Sao Paulo, Brazil is hosting tonight’s UFC Fight Night 119. The event is set to include the UFC return of former champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida, as the fighter will face off against Derek Brunson in tonight’s headliner.
Welterweights Vicente Luque and Niko Price battled it out for division dominance in tonight’s featured preliminary match.
The fight started off slow, with Luque and Price sizing each other up for much of the first minute of the initial round. Luque began countering with leg kicks, as Price delivered a series of jabs.
Price became more confident with his striking later in the round, as Luque began to abandon his leg kicks. Then, Luque scored a nice overhand counter on his opponent.
Opening in the second round, Luque continued to pick apart his opponent with leg kicks. Price, however, offered counter strikes in return. Luque eventually pressured his his opponent against the fence, landing a stunning knee to the head in the process.
Dropping Price with an overhand, Luque managed to lock in a D’arce choke for a victory in the second round.
