Daniel Cormier suffered a momentarily title ending knockout loss to heated rival Jon Jones at UFC 214.

ollowing the unexpected incident, Daniel Cormier decided to take to social media to allow the fans a chance to elect which fighter he will face next. After some time, fight fans put in their votes and Daniel Cormier revealed whom will be his next opponent. No. 2 ranked contender Volkan Oezdemir has earned a shot at the title.
Now, the division contender has come forward to reveal that he plans on knocking the champion out as soon as possible.
Volkan Oezdemir is on a tear through the light heavyweight division, currently riding a five fight winning streak. Oezdemir earned knockout victories in his last two octagon performances, over Jimi Manuwa and Misha Cirkunov. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Volkan Oezdemir explained that Daniel Cormier is going to have a lot on his hands if they meet inside the octagon.
“It’s not going to be the best situation for him because I’ve got knockout power, that’s for sure. I hope his brain recovered well I’m going to bring the heat.”
Finishing his thought, Oezdemir revealed that he plans on knocking Cormier out within two minutes of the fight.
“I think in the first two minutes, that’s my goal anyway. I’m going to make all of my training so I will be able to knock him out,” Oezdemir said.
“I have no time for this. I don’t want to get injured, I’m just going to knock him out really fast.”
