Fight fans flocked to New York today for the UFC 217 ceremonial weigh-ins. During the event, fans got a chance to watch their favorite fighters stare down one last time before the UFC competitors meet toe-to-toe in tomorrow night’s exciting fight event.
UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be going toe-to-toe with Rose Namajunas inside the Madison Square Garden Arena during the night of fights. In anticipation for the title fight throw down, the UFC recently held the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 217. During the show, Namajunas got a chance to staredown the strawweight champion in an intense exchange.
During the staredown, Rose Namajunas can be seen chanting the Lord’s Prayer. The fighter revealed to Joe Rogan after the staredown that she had been saying only the chant to her opponent.
Here is a look at the Lord’s Prayer:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.”
