Cody Garbrandt came into Saturday night’s UFC 217 looking to make his first UFC bantamweight title defense. However, the night simply did not go “No Love’s” way.
In the night’s co-main event, Garbrandt faced off against former champion and former teammate T.J. Dillashaw in a heated grudge match. Dillashaw was able to score in a TKO victory over his opponent in the second round of the fight, earning Dillashaw the bantamweight belt once again.
Directly after the TKO, Dillashaw was seen screaming something at Cody Garbrandt. Now “No Love” has come forward to discuss the incident.
Speaking in the UFC 217 post-fight press conference, Garbrandt was asked what Dillashaw was screaming after the fight. “No Love” responded:
“I don’t knwo. He was probably yelling some sh*t. He had a lot of sh*t he was carrying on with all of the drama. And I stand behind everything I said. He’s still not a good person, but I respect him as a fighter. And that’s that.
” … I stand behind everything that I said about T.J., but I give him respect for going out there and capitalizing on a mistake, but I truly am the better fighter, and I want that rematch. I’m willing to put in the work and do whatever it takes to get the title back because it was something I was born to do.”
