Garbrandt Keeps Tradition Even In Defeat, Visits His Champ Maddux After UFC 217

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody “No Love” Garbrandt may have lost his title to T.J. Dillashaw, in Saturday’s UFC 217 co-main event, but that’s not stopping him from breaking tradition.

For many fights, and many years, Cody Garbrandt and Maddux Maple have had a special bond. Maddux is a young cancer survivor who Cody met while the young man was still ill. Ever since the two decided to fight for each other, and the future saw them both succeed in their parts of the bargain.

Maddux beat cancer, and Cody made it to the UFC and became the champion.

Which is why it’s very nice to see the former champ, even after losing such a fight, keep things real in his off-time and go see the other fighter in his crew.
