GDR Ducks Another One, Pulls Out Two Days After Accepting Comeback Fight

It’s a strange thing… History books will notate that Germain de Randamie (GDR) was the first ever UFC female featherweight champion. However, her career since capturing UFC gold has been anything but championship.

The former champion never even lost her belt in the octagon. In fact, she barely won the belt as the fight with Holly Holm at UFC 208 was not without controversy.

When she faced Holly Holm, she displayed rule breaking, and a lot of dirty fighting. At the end of the fight, de Randamie was awarded the decision but it definitely left a bad taste in many fans mouths.

Still though, she was the champion, and when talks came about to defend her title against Cris Cyborg, the champion would duck it until the UFC stripped her of the belt.

Now, set to return in the UFC’s bantamweight division, the former champion has apparently ducked another one.

Ketlen Vieria revealed the shocking news on Instagram:

Galera, I came to tell you that this fight was canceled, because my opponent has his hand injured to fight, but strange that until two days ago her hand was in good condition, he even posted a trained video, but God knows everything and I trust his plans, because his plans are better than mine. Thank you guys for the strength, and I continue in focus training and awaited.
