It was recently revealed that UFC light heavyweight contender Volkan Oezdemir has been arrested. Now another division contender has decided to come forward with a statement concerning the situation.
Oezdemir was arrested by Fort Lauderdale Police on Saturday, Nov. 18, and book in the Broward County jail. The fighter faced the arrest for aggravated battery and his bail has been set to $10,000.
UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier previously had targeted Oezdemir as his next opponent for inside the octagon, following a social media poll the champion provided for his fans.
Now fellow contender Jimi Manuwa has come forward to offer himself as a replacement opponent for the champion. Taking to Twitter, Manuwa stated:

Jimi Manuwa is coming off of a tough loss to Volkan Oezdemir from UFC 214. The fighter was knocked out within the first round.
